This is a new small oil sketch ,it is about 8x 10 inches. It might be a little loud for some but, these type of paintings are good if you want to learn how to push your limits. Try to think out of the box sort of speak and try to limit color and expand your horizons. I know my subject matter is not very different but I have used only a few colors here. I have worked them as fresh and bright as possible. Simplifying shapes as I went along. I know it is not always easy to try something new, most times I try to do this, the painting looks the same as most others I paint. I keep trying. That is one of my best advice to artists. Just keep going, It is all about the process and enjoying it. If you don't enjoy it, maybe it is not for you. But also, it is not always about the feeling, most of us today live to much on feelings. We got to ignore the feeling and keep working at our art and craft. If this is what God has made us to be, our work will show it. You will see the light of God in your painting and others will to. So ,All that is my little advice for today. Enjoy your day, now! :)

They are a second edition of the link to follow. http://amzn.to/28XLQMw. This link goes to one of my Kindle coloring page design books you can purchase. I have been doing a lot of black and white designs on paper. Then I scan them into the computer and put them into books. I have found it is a great way to make a little extra money on line. This one above is sort of abstract , but I think most people know what it is. I have tried to draw it as a flower would feel to me. Some people might think it is weird and I guess it might be considered that way, as I see it and feel it, I am some what happy with it . I think it works as a design. It is not perfect, but I think art does not have to be perfect. To me, it has to be beautiful. I hope when some one purchases my design coloring books, and they ad their own color it gives them some sort of creativity and sense of pride that possibly they don't have the time or the resources to do on there own . So All Thanks for reading my little blurb for the day. I hope your day is a peaceful and productive one. See you soon! :)
Hello, every one, I am back from my trip to SoCal. We had a great time. It is so beautiful there. Every time I come back I always think about relocating. the weather is nice, the surroundings, the people, the views, the flowers. Just and all round great place to live. Plus, my sis lives there and that is always a wonderful time.
I took many pictures for painting and others. Sat by the ocean and watched the waves and people and scenery. Can't say enough about it ,but I will. I want to share a few pics below and also want to talk about a new travel paint set that I got while I was in CA. Some of you water colorists might like it also. Below are 2 photos I took, the top one is a small water color I did with the new set of a travel watercolor set I got on my trip to CA. The watercolors are called Koi and they are made in China. As you can see they are a very good set of paints. The set comes with 24 colors, a wide range for a travel set. It also comes with a very interesting brush and one I never used before. The brush can be filled with water, so you really do not need to have a container of water with you, but it helps. After you fill it with water you squeeze it and water flows down to the tip, then you just work your paint as you would with any other watercolor brush. The colors are very bright and brilliant and they give you a lot of space for pallet mixing. I would highly recommend them, if you like this sort of thing. They are a little pricey but I used a coupon at Hobby Lobby and got them for about 21.00. My new toy, I felt like a kid with one any way. A little treat for me. lol! They did not pay me to say this, I like to give my opinion on supplies that are available for artists. I also want to give advice and help, if others out there need any. Signing off until next time, have a blessed day. A |
