Hi All! Just realize I have not posted anything in a week. I am trying to keep up my blog to date with new work and hope to give more incite into how my work comes to fruition. I also want to give others some ideas to help be more creative. The drawings above are taken from my sketch book. This is one of the places where some of my ideas get put down for projects or paintings that I am working on, a sketch book it a great place to scribble and doodle. This is also a kind of journal of pictures or drawings or paintings. This is a place where you should feel totally free, where you do not have to show any one any of it. A very personal space. There have been times when I have not used my sketch book for a long time and if I have ideas to paint I go strait from a photo ( that I took of course) into a painting. Recently though I have been drawing a lot. Mostly because I have been creating coloring books for adults to color, they are Amazon Kindle books that you can purchase. The 2 above are from a new book that I am working on. You can purchase them is you are interested by clicking on the link to follow. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=ntt_athr_dp_sr_2?_encoding=UTF8&field-author=Andrea%20Maglio-Macullar&search-alias=digital-text&sort=relevancerank All the books I have worked on or created are there. To get back to sketch books, they are a good place also to write down thoughts or ideas or colors for your work. I would suggest drawing in it almost everyday if you can, this keeps your hand in sort of speak. It keeps your ideas flowing. I also go back and look at older ones from time to time, they are a book of your history of art ideas and work. It will show how your style and work has changed over the years. You will see a progression. These are just a few thoughts on sketch books, if you don't have one check them out the next time you are in the art store. If you do have one continue on using it. It is one of an artist's most helpful tools. Thanks for reading and make it a great day :) ! |
